Energy efficiency, energy-intensive businesses adapt to the Italian DL 102/2014

DL 102/2014 on energy efficiency for large enterprises Italian, obligation to periodic energy audit. ENEA ensuring compliance certifications to the national and European legislation.

 In particular, with regard to the field of Italian companies with high energy consumption or energy-intensive , the decree provides for the ‘ obligation to periodic energy audits , to be made ​​by 5 December 2015, worth administrative and financial penalties that can reach 20 thousand euro , in case of difference of diagnosis compared with the requirements prescribed by the regulations, even up to 40 000 euro, in the case of non-submission of certification.

 Excluded from, the Italian SMEs with less than 250 employees and an annual turnover of less than € 50 million, despite the decree provides anyway for these incentive mechanisms to support effective management systems (in accordance with ISO 50001) , or of technical intervention, for energy saving.


What form do the energy audits?

According to the rules contained in the Decree 102/2014, the energy audits consist certifications detailed systematic data bearing on the operation and the energy consumption of industrial plants.

 L ‘ ENEA (National Agency for Energy Efficiency), former deputy to the definition of strategies for upgrading the energy efficiency of buildings, will have the task of verifying compliance with the requirements of the diagnoses contained in the decree, to the extent of 3%, the sample companies who have entrusted the investigation to outside consultants, and 100%, for companies that have carried out internally the analysis required.
